Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407 with Pastor Robert Hefner officiating. George will be laid to rest next to his wife in Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
Born in Spruce Pine, NC to the late Dewitt and Arlene Riddle, George was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. He served in The United States Marine Corp and retired from Ryder Truck Lines after many years of employment. George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fanny Mae Riddle; a son, Edward “Eddie” and a brother, Robert Riddle.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Fanny “Sue” Sanford, Sherry R. Stamatakis, David Allen Riddle, Mark Riddle (Sandy) and Beverly Culp (Fred); siblings, Wayne Riddle, “JR” Riddle, Jolene Riddle Rippy, Raymond Riddle (Thresia), Elizabeth Riddle Bartlett and Barbara Woody (Earl); sister-in-law, Ethel Riddle; grandchildren, Kelly (John), Shannon, LaNecia (Marcus), Lorna, Fredrick, Olevia (Arthur), Stacey, Mark, Chance and Chase; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Elijah, Ocean, Chris, John, Kimora, Isabel, Anabella, Noah and Nova; and other extended family and loved ones.
