Born February 24, 1933, George Page was an aviator, sailor, entrepreneur, father, and grandfather. George Whitehead Page Jr. was a member of standing in America's greatest generations. He graduated high school from Hargrave Military Academy and matriculated at UNC Chapel Hill. Ever the adventurer, George left college to join the US Air Force as a Second Lieutenant in the final years of the Korean conflict flying the F-86 Sabre fighter jet. Later, he founded Unitex Chemical Corp., which he skillfully transformed from a textile chemical marketer to a widely admired manufacturer of key components to the plastics industry. George lived his final years on his beloved farm Chestnut Hill, lovingly assisted by his nurse Linda and surrounded by his family. He is survived by sister, Jean Barnett, his wife Carroll Israel Page, daughters Angela Page of Atlanta, GA; Nicole Page-Clark of Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughters Catherine and Annelise; and son Todd Page of Sharon, CT. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Monday, January 24, 2022 at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church, 1616 Scalesville Rd. Summerfield, NC.
