Gaynell Faulk

Gaynell Faulk, age 79, was born December 10, 1942, near Ft. Bragg, NC, to the late George W. and Annie Lee Darroch Faulk. She passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Clapp’s Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5721 Methodist Road, Greensboro, NC 27406. The service will continue with the graveside inurnment, followed by a family visitation time in the Christian Life Center.

Gaynell, along with her family, moved to Guilford County, NC, at age 4. She was a 1960 graduate of Pleasant Garden High School and went on to a nearly 50 year career with Jefferson Standard/Jefferson Pilot/Lincoln Financial.

Gaynell was a life-long member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church where she served on numerous committees, volunteered with Youth Groups, and traveled with the church’s Mission Building Teams for Appalachian and Guatemalan projects. In addition to her church, the most important things in her life were her family, her friends and her work. She loved hosting large family events at her house where she served her famous potato salad and banana pudding.

Gaynell is preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Gina Faulk. She is survived by brothers, Gary (Virginia) Faulk, Mitchell (Glenda) Faulk and Ralph Faulk; nephews, Dan (Tammy) Faulk, Bradley (Patti) Faulk, and Brian (Jenni) Faulk; great nieces, Ashleigh Thornhill and Olivia Faulk and great nephews, Will Faulk and Xander Faulk. She is also survived by a foster brother, Tim and a dear friend and neighbor, Sue McCulloch.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clapp’s Nursing Center for the sincere care and compassion shown to Gaynell and her family during the last 14 months.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Gaynell be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5721 Methodist Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.
