Gail’s funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday May 1st at St. Pius X Catholic Church. A reception at the church will follow. She will have a private burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Gail was enjoying retired life. She loved to travel whether it was the beach or the mountains or just day trips to neighboring cities. But the place she loved most was Greensboro. She was born in Greensboro and only left to attend Marymount College in Boca Raton, FL, the University of Tennessee and spend time abroad.
Gail spent her professional years working at Greensboro College in admissions, the
Eastern Musical Festival, the Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau as the Marketing Director and finally at the Women’s Resource Center, in addition she was an avid volunteer. She made many friends and acquaintances along the way and was very well known in Greensboro.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Murphy and Adelaide C. Murphy and a brother, J. Craig Murphy.
Gail is survived by her sister, Christine M. Lee of Greensboro, nephew, Scott Lee (Jessica) of Charlotte, NC, nieces Kerry Flading (Jim) of Marietta, GA, Amy Wiley (Adrian) of Deerfield, IL, and Audra Franz of Kannapolis, NC, great-nephews, Luke, Alexander, Hunter, Connor and Austin, great-nieces, Alexis, Julia, Elizabeth, Hannah, Ava, Katherine, and great-great niece Skye.
