Mrs. Faye Jackson Lynam

A committal service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Grace Community Church, 643 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC, with Pastor Bill Goans officiating and a reception will follow in the Eagle's Nest. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 23, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC.

Mrs. Lynam was born in Northampton County, NC, however, she spent most of her childhood in Wake Forest, NC. She was a graduate of Wake Forest High School and continued her education at Wake Forest College, receiving a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in education. Mrs. Lynam enjoyed a teaching career of over 25 years, mostly with Guilford County middle schools. She had many beloved students.

Faye loved her family and married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Alan Lynam, also a native of Wake Forest, in 1953. She traveled with him throughout Europe and the United States as Charles pursued training for his music career as a voice performer and university professor. Most of their marriage of nearly 60 years, they lived in Greensboro, NC.

Mrs. Lynam was preceded in death by her husband; Charles Alan Lynam, parents; Roger Ray Jackson and Amanda Kathalene Jackson, brother Roger Ray Jackson, Jr., and wife, Alma Jackson, and brothers-in-law Clarence Lane, Bud Janke, and Ted Tyler.

Mrs. Lynam is survived by her son, Steven Alan Lynam and wife, Paula Stewart Lynam; daughter Carol Lynam Koontz and husband, Bryan Lee Koontz; sisters, Joyce Jackson Janke, Kathryn Jackson Tyler, Rachael Jackson Brandon and husband Dr. Allen Brandon; grandchildren, Annelise Lynam Cheng and husband, Dr. Jack Cheng, Stewart Charles (Chad) Lynam and wife, Rachel, and Meredith Renee Koontz, David Thomas Koontz and wife Jennah; and great grandsons, Beauden Allen Cheng, and William Steven Lynam.
