Earl Mendenhall Brown

Earl Mendenhall Brown passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023. A graveside service celebrating Earl’s life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, NC 27455.

Earl had been a resident at the Guilford House Assisted Living Center for almost a year. The family wants to thank both the staff and the residents for their wonderful care and companionship during his stay. We also want to thank the team from Authora Care Collective Hospice for their loving attention to Earl during his final days.

Earl had been a lifelong resident of the Dover Road neighborhood in Greensboro where he was fortunate to be surrounded by the kindest, most caring neighbors imaginable. He attended N.C. State University where his major in Mechanical Engineering led him down many career paths. Earl served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard where he was stationed at Fort Jackson, SC; but it was his love for flying that took precedence over all. He obtained his private pilot’s license and adopted a second home at Air Harbor Airport in Greensboro.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, David Mitchell Brown, Sr. and Sarah Mendenhall Brown. He is survived by his brother, David M. Brown, Jr. and his wife Nicki of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family is being served by Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home of Greensboro.
