Donna Wilson Smith

Donna Lynne Wilson Smith, 65, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Thursday May 25, 2023. She was born January 29, 1958 in Greensboro the daughter of Kenneth Rae and Jewel Jacqueline Miller Wilson.

Donna graduated from Ragsdale High School and received her BS from UNC-G. She retired from Guilford County Schools and was a member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church.

She was the middle of three girls. A firm believer in God, she was a true fighter and warrior. She forgave with no questions, loved big and deeply, always smiled and never complained no matter what she was going through.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Susan Wilson.

Donna is survived by her husband, Dennis Smith of the home, her daughter, Jessica Smith of Greensboro her mother Jewel Wilson, and a sister, Sharon Myers (Steve), nephew Zack Myers, niece Julie Myers, and a host of many family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Susan Hoyle. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Myers, Zach Myers, Gary Trull, Tim Hall, Lee Andrews and Byron Barnette.

We want to give our warmest gratitude to her home health physical therapist Sabra Kress who has been with us the past 10 years, her home health aid Darolyn who has been in our lives for the past 2 and 1/2 years. Also, the family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses, especially nurse Stacey Duinick with AuthoraCare Hospice.
