Donna Hedrick Greeson, age 68, was welcomed to her heavenly home by her Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 after a twelve year battle with breast cancer. Donna was born January 7, 1952 in Greensboro, daughter of the late Charles Waldo and Pauline (Sumner) Hedrick. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Kathryn Hedrick Harris.
Donna was a native of Greensboro and a graduate of UNC Greensboro where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Math Education. She was a National Board certified math teacher and retired from Guilford County Schools where she taught for over forty years. She also loved art and was an avid painter. She enjoyed taking healing art classes at the Hirsch Center. Her devotion to God and her family was unwavering. She faithfully worshipped her Lord most recently at Trinity Church.
Donna was a devoted wife to her husband, Stephen Greeson, and they were married for 38 wonderful years. She was also a beloved Mom to her children and their spouses, Stephanie and Charles Gardiner, and Laura and Jon Teeple; and a cherished Grandmother to Annabelle Faye Gardiner. She is survived by brothers: Jefferson Charles Hedrick of Denton, NC; and William Thomas Hedrick of Greensboro, NC.
A service to celebrate her life officiated by Pastor Marc Putnam will be at 6 PM, Monday, December 28 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer.
