Prayers and condolences for David Lloyd's family. I have only known David for a few years but treasured our friendship and his warm and friendly smile and cheerful persona each time we met. I will miss him.

It was with great sadness I learned of David's passing.  He was a good man who will be missed.  May God shelter the family during these trying times.  It was an honor to work with and know him.  BJ Barnes

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I pray God will comfort your heart.

Your Dad and I were zone partners for two years, I worked zone 31 and your dad 29. In all of my 34 years with the Guilford Co Sheriff’s Office. David was the most street wise Deputy on the Sheriff’s Office in my opinion during my days assigned to field operations. He was a great leader of younger Deputies and always professional. I almost met your Dad when he was a Greensboro Police Officer.  I lived in Bessemer near Dockley lumber Co. The business was destroyed by fire during the late 1960’s. David was on duty in an undercover Cadillac , to keep looters out of the remaining section that were intact.  It was about 11:00pm.  I was next to Market St throwing rocks at cars and David witnessed my stupidity. He exited his car and the foot chase began, but David never caught up with me on the railroad tracks after I dove into a huge amount of honey suckles. I watched as he flashed his light looking for me. But David never did find me and I was only about 4 feet from him. Many years later ,I was on a code 8 with your Dad talking in Pleasant Garden as I described the story above to your Dad. He stopped me before I finished and said that was me chasing you that night and David described the rest of the story just as it happened. We laughed and laughed and was amazed that God brought us together working as Zone partners. Your Dad had such a strong faith in our savior Jesus Christ and I to. So we had a great time working together. I am so glad David is home and I know we will see him again. I hope this true story will give you a laugh and good memory of your beloved Dad, David Lloyd.

I sure will miss talking to David everyday  when he returned from his trip for the day.

It has been a joy and a privilege to have had David work for us for so long.   I really am going to miss him keeping updated on everything.   David was always in the know.

Love and prayers for our dear neighbor and friends for over 30 years. David was such a great neighbor and friend who genuinely cared for his fellow man.   The world will surely miss his kindness and care.

David was a great Deputy to work with. Condolences to the family and 🙏…

Sgt was 1 of my 2 Patrol FTO's in 1986. My first tour on Patrol was nightshift, 22 year old rookie that Sgt would say I have my kid riding with me. Less than 2 hours into our shift we are 1080 "Vehicle Pursuit" down 220 south from Greensboro to the Randolph County line and back Northbound until the suspect vehicle engine blew up.  1095 x 2 with Driver and passenger was wanted. When the pursuit started I will never forget Sgt saying. Run up your window, turn the Air conditioner off, do what I tell you and say what I say on the radio.  We were Southbound and Down. I knew then my career would be wide-open. 

Sgt was a Cops Cop, A+Lawman, Mentor, Coach and like a second Dad to many of us. I ate many meals with him at his restaurant the "Greenhouse" Even though many years have passed I miss the  Homemade Peanut Butter Pie and weekly fellowship.

Sgt, much gratitude, respect and admiration for you. THANK YOU, Sore with the Angels, you lived Matthew 5:9 and Isaiah 6:8. 

I offer my Condolences to Carol and David’s entire Family. I worked with David in my early career as a Law Enforcement with the City of Greensboro. You could always depend on David for support and watching my back. He left GPD and he and Carol ran the Greenhouse Restaurant at Gate City Blvd.& Merritt Dr. He was truly a Gentleman. & a Dedicated Officer with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department. RIP my Fellow LEO.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have known David for many years and Carolyn even longer. This news saddens me.
David was a good officer and a good man. He will be missed.

There's now a big hole in the heart of  our little group of "Bon Bon" friends. 





My prayers are with David's family and friends upon his recent passing. I remember David when he worked for Greensboro police before he went to the Sheriff's Department. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and always had a smile on his face. Godspeed David.
