Charlotte Olive Hallberg died on Sunday, December 16, 2018, in Greensboro NC at the age of 93. She was born in Durham, NC. In 1946 she married Russell Hallberg and enjoyed 70 years of marriage before his death in 2015. In 1975 Charlotte and Russ moved to Rock Hill, SC, where they resided for almost 40 years. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church as well as Woodland UMC, where Charlotte attended and taught the Fellowship Class. Charlotte was well-known as a teacher of history, economics, sociology, drama, speech and debate.
Charlotte is survived by her three children: Ginny (Van), Kurt, and Betsy (Jay); six grandchildren: Desty (Matt), Nate (Jen), Jeff (Andi), Joel (Mimia), Mae (Michael), and granddaughter-in-law Michelle; and 9 great grandchildren: Hayley, Cole, Stuart, Zach, Kennedy, Julian, Karen, Roland and Kendall. She is pre-deceased by her grandson Dan and daughter-in-law Pam.
Charlotte is also survived by a sister, Patsy, sisters-in-law Eve and Martha, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her siblings Julian, John, Billy, and Betsy Anne.
There will be a memorial service for her December 28, 2018 at 1 pm at Woodland United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
