Carl Enoch Hairr, 87, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. He was born January 31, 1931 in Sampson County the son of Lattie Almond and Bettie Royal Hairr.
Carl graduated from Clement High School in Autryville. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the City of Greensboro retiring after 37 years. Carl was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Davis Hairr. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Elma H. Tyndall, Gertrude H. Spell, Jean H. Stewart and his brothers, William Paul, Lattie Almond Jr, Omax, James Rupert, and Roger Franklin Hairr.
Carl is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Cannady Hairr of the home; daughter, Cheryl Hairr Lewis of Reidsville; son-in-law Larry Dale Lewis of Greensboro and granddaughters, Kimberly Lewis Sutphin and husband Zachary, Kelly Rebecca Lewis and Carl and Rebecca's God-Child, Ashley Roberts Barker.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Reverend Dr. Jack Benzenhafer and Reverend James Jarrard. Interment with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carl’s Sunday School Class and his Wednesday morning Prayer Group.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
