Buford B. King

Mr. Buford Burwell ”B.B.” King born in Guilford County (NC) on January 18, 1937 to William Alvin, and Rowella Mildred Meris King. He passed away at age 83 peacefully; as a resident of Greensboro (NC) on February 11, 2020.

Alumni of Randleman (NC) High School (1956). Worked for Carolina Steele of Greensboro (NC) as a Tig Welder, Triad Freightliner of Greensboro (NC) as a Modification Welder/Mechanic, Cheeks Auto Salvage of Greensboro (NC), and eventually retiring from U.S. Truck & Trailer of Greensboro (NC) as a Mechanic. His hobbies included racing, tractors, and being an animal lover.

Preceded in death by his wife Mildred Catherine “Teet” Welborn–King (8/14/2017). Parents; One sister, Emma Jean King. Son-In-Law, Joey Bradshaw. Surviving children are three daughters; Becky Bradshaw of Summerfeild (NC), Cathy Winebarger/husband Dean of Greensboro (NC), Wanda King of McLeansville (NC). Three sons; Brad King/wife Julie of Greensboro (NC), Richard King of Greensboro (NC), Ron King of Greensboro (NC). Grandkids; Brian & Nick King, Chad & Amy Bradshaw, Brooke King, and Joshua Z. King. One great Grandchild; Kai. Four sisters; Lois Nadine King of Greensboro (NC), Vi Appleton of Greensboro (NC), Faye Mohorn of Greensboro (NC), and Judy Flippin of Oak Ridge (NC). Three brothers; Odell King of Trinity (NC), William King of Advance (NC), and Ray King of Harrisburg (NC). Also hosted by several nieces & nephews.

Funeral visitation/services will be held Sunday, February 16th 2020 (1:00 PM); at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home “Sedgefield” Chapel by the reverend Rick Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park (approx. 2:00 PM). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday; from 1:00 PM. until service time.
