Billy “Bill” Lee Kirkman, 78, a resident of Greensboro died Monday morning December 19, 2011 at Mose H. Cone Hospital. Mr. Kirkman was born in Pleasant Garden, the son of Basom Lee and Margaret Lamonds Kirkman. Bill graduated from Pleasant Garden High School and owned and operated Kirkman Signs. He was a verteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Word of Life Foursquare Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joey Lee Kirkman and an infant sister, Patty Ellen Kirkman.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra White Kirkman of the home; one daughter, Patty K. Craven of Gibsonville; one son, Shawn Kirkman of Julian; two step-sons, Joseph Henley and Andrew Henley and wife Crystal all of Greensboro; two sisters, Brenda K. Duncan and husband Ken, Gayle K. Blackwell and husband Earl all of Greensboro; one brother, Jerry Kirkman and wife Carol of High Point and three grandchildren, Nikki, Stephanie and Kaylee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Brian Blomquist and the Reverend Kurt Huth. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
