Jamestown-Mrs. Betty Hobbs Andrews, 81 of Jamestown, North Carolina, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as she received her ultimate healing on Sunday, April 17, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Guilford Memorial Park.
Betty was born on January 25, 1930, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Bill Hobbs and Emily Hobbs Bowers. She attended Greensboro High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class at Gate City Baptist Church where she was a member for 10 years. Betty also enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dale Thomas Andrews. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters , Cindy Andrews Thomas and husband Don and Brenda Andrews Martin and husband Tim; two grand children, Brittany Thomas Thoma and husband, Brian; Jeff Thomas and wife, Amy; two great grandsons, Logan Miles Thoma and Landon Matthew Thoma; sister, Evelyn Hobbs Foltz and husband Herb; and brother, Bob Hobbs and wife Mollie.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Long Cancer Center or Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro.
Betty wished for no public viewing however, the family will receive guests at her residence, 4744 Barrington Place Court, in Jamestown from 10AM-12PM and from 5:30 PM-7-30PM on Monday, April 18.
