Barbara A. Ball

Barbara A. Ball, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Wesley Long Hospital. She was born in Guilford County on June 12, 1942, the daughter of Wilbert Clyde Autry and Ila May Moon Autry. She worked with the Guilford County School System in several different school cafeterias in the county until her retirement.

Barbara always placed her family first. She was an avid reader and also cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Goins Cain. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Joseph M. “Buddy” Ball of the home; children, Joseph" Mark" Ball and wife Kaye of Greensboro, NC, Buddy William Ball of Denton, NC, Barbara Lynn Ball of Walnut Cove, NC; grandchildren, Ivey Ball, Camden Ball, Davin Ball, and Brooke Ball; brother, Gene Autry and wife Pat of Chinquapin, NC and Judy Buddenderf of PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 3:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
