Wayne E. Lawson, II

away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home.

He was a retired engineer and yard master at CSX Railroad and was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by “his person,” Audra Brewer and her children, Colten and Dakota Brewer; his

beloved son, Chunk the English Bulldog; his mother, Glenna Lawson; sister and brother-in-law,

Mollie and Wesley Bolton; special niece and nephew of whom he considered his own and was

so very proud of, Britton Anne and Cooper Bolton; stepmother, Janice Lawson; uncle, Bobby

Britton; aunt, Virginia Faust; and special friends Lanny “Lummy” and Susie Jones and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne E. Lawson; his grandparents, Lionel and Ruth

Britton, Oscar and Mabel Lawson; and several aunts and uncles.

Anyone who knew Wayne knew that he loved all of his family fiercely. His family was the most

important part of his life: “Audrakins” and sons; his “Little Mommy;” his sister, “Mod;” his niece,

“Nay;” nephew, whom he simply called “Nephew;” and Wesley Bolton, whom he also simply

called “Brother-in-Law.”

Wayne did everything in a “big” way. His network of friends was big. Too numerous to list but we

want to make sure everyone knows that if you were a friend or coworker of his, he loved you in

a “big” way. Whether it be hunting, fishing, golf, softball, or trivia nights, he did all those in a “big”

way. Wayne was fortunate enough to spend some of his last days doing what he loves most

with his “Arkansas family”– duck hunting and loafering in Ragtown. Our family is truly grateful for

all of his friends that have reached out to us in the last few days. The vast number of people

contacting us have been a comfort knowing that his testimony is the lives that he has touched

along the way… and Wayne did it in a “big” way. If you were a friend of Wayne, you were a

friend for life. And in Wayne’s words, “Be Purdy.”

The family will receive friends 11:00am–2:00pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The

funeral service will follow at 2:00pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Wade

McAmis will officiate.

Interment will be conducted at Cross Anchor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cooper Bolton,

Wesley Bolton, Mark Britton, Zachary Britton, Zane Britton, Jaylynn Kesterson, Steve Starnes,

Chad Malone, Colten Brewer, Dakota Brewer, and Brandon Britton.

Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
