He was a farmer and worked at Magnavox for 36 years. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960.
Mr. Morgan was a member of Towering Oaks Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years: Trula Morgan; son and daughter-in-law: Rocky and Bridgett Morgan; two step-daughters: Debbie and Larry Brown of Sarasota, Florida and Patricia and David Robinette of Mosheim; granddaughter: Brittany Morgan; three step-grandsons: Brandon Hendrickson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Nathan and Justin Robinette of Greeneville; great grandchild: Hannah Buckner; great-great grandchild: Addie Buckner; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Charmie Ann Stevens, Carol Morgan of Florida, Nancy Griffin, Mary Sue and David Cox, and Lila and Jeff Hux; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Bert and Iva Mae Morgan.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tommy Pierce and Rev. Dennis Shumate officiating.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Harris Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
