He was a former barber and employee of the U.S. Forest Service and retired from Parker-Hanifin.
He was a Trustee and faithful member of Greystone Free Will Baptist Church. His truck was always the first in the parking lot as long as his health permitted.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Greystone Ruritan Club and was a Bluegrass Music enthusiast. He was a lover of the outdoors and an avid fox hunter and a bench show judge before his declining health. In earlier years, he was a member of Waterfork Baseball Team. He enjoyed gardening after his retirement.
He is survived by a special girlfriend: Kathleen Alexander; two sisters: Marlene Beach of Midway and Judy Harrison of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Terry and Pam Harrison of Greeneville and Lynn and Julia Harrison of Morristown; several nieces, nephews, and special cousins; and a family friend: Edna Rambo.
He was a son of the late Marvin and Kate Blake Harrison and was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Delmont Beach; and a sister-in-law: Nancy Harrison.
The family will receive friends 3-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church in time for the services on Sunday.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, at Greystone Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Stocton and Rev. Jerry Hopson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
His pallbearers are Eddie House, Donnie Wright, Roy Weems, Jeff Beach, T.J. and Ben Harrison, Eddie McCamey, Daniel McCaslin, and Zahnie McCaslin.
Greystone Church and Sunday School Class, Bluegrass Buddies, Fox hunters, his TRW “Parker-Hanifin” friends, and his cousins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
