He was the owner of Ricker Electric.
Mr Ricker was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and attended Greenelawn Baptist Church.
He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served during the Viet Nam Conflict, a member of VFW Post #1990, Disabled American Veterans, and was the first Viet Nam veteran in Greene County to receive the Quilt of Valor. He was also an avid bass fisherman.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Matthew and Rhonda Ricker and Mark Ricker; special grandchildren: Lena Malone and Kaydence Malone; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean Wilhoit, June and James Fellers, Becky and Bill Davis; brothers: Ralph Ricker and Jimmy Ricker; girlfriend: Linda Houston; several nieces and nephews; and his special pets, his dogs: Alfie, Foxy, and Molly.
He was the son of the late Bee and Ruth Ricker and was preceded in death by an infant son, Rex Allen Ricker; and brothers: Carl, Arlie, Edward, and Grover Ricker.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Hux and Rev. Claude Swatzell officiating.
Interment will be at 1 pm Thursday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Wilhoit, Mark Hinkle, Ricky Malone, Jim Davis, Wayne Southerland, and Karl Grey.
