Rev. Moore was pastor of Refuge Free Will Baptist Church.
He retired from Life Care Center after 43 years of service and was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association, where he served as Chaplain.
He is survived by his sons, Frankie (Candice) Moore and Scotty (Kelley) Moore, both of Greeneville; his grandchildren, Cody Moore, Paige Tesnear, Daron Lee, and Dylan Lee; three brothers, Jimmy Moore, Donald (Lisa) Moore, and Marlin (Kim) Moore; two sisters, Lisa (Edward) Pitts and Nancy (Lee) Mullins; mother-in-law, Francis Holland; a special aunt, Pearl Landers, whom he thought of as a mother; and a special great nephew, Justin McGhee. He is also survived by special friends, Barbara Shelton, Judy Burns, Genia Gentry, and Stacy and Tim Murphy.
Walter was the son of the late Walter D. Moore, Sr. and Lola Mae Moore. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Moore, and his brother, Robert Moore.
The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 2pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Rev. Greg Graybeal and Rev. Lynn Mercer.
Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Scott Vance, Dan Beaty, Jim Boling, Dan Gathercole, Chris Burrell, and Jason Ricker.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Nurses and Staff of Life Care Center of Greeneville and Christian Motorcycle Association.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
