Paul Edward Hayden, 76, passed away October 2, 2013 at home in Greeneville, Tennessee. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 28, 1937 to the late John and Ruby Hayden. He is survived by his wife, Deanie of Greeneville. He is also survived by three sons: David & Dawn of Cumming, Georgia, John & Michelle of Roanoke, Virginia, and Jimmy & Irma, of Roanoke, Virginia ; and two daughters: Susan & Michael Berdinka of Speonk, New York, and Lori & Travis Wright of Salem, Virginia ; and a stepdaughter Denise Starkey & James Denson of St. Louis, Missouri; many beloved grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Paul was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Greeneville. Paul served his country in the Air Force after high school. After a career in engineering, his later years were devoted to the Greene County Soil Conservation and the Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance. In May, an educational wetland area was dedicated at Tusculum College in his honor. He loved farming, cars and hiking on the Appalachian Trail. His legacy lives on in his children and in his work
The service honoring Paul will be at the Asbury United Methodist Church on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are being made through the Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home, 125 Idletime Drive, Greeneville, Tennessee. There will be a second service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri early next week. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honor to the Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance, 311 Tusculum Blvd., Greeneville, TN 37745; or to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, P.O.
