Mrs. Blevins was retired from AirMaze. After her retirement she was a volunteer for the Greeneville Greene County Community Ministry for several years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Blevins was the widow of Fred Robert Blevins, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Suzanne and Jim Feltman, Robin and Chris Edwards of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Lauren and Mark Edwards and Eric Feltman; two sisters: Loraine Slimp of Knoxville and Malta Hunt of Chuckey; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Clarence and Charlotte Southerland of Greeneville and J.R. and Geraldine Southerland of Johnson City; two sisters-in-law: Georgia Southerland and JoAnn Southerland; brother-in-law: Kenneth Blevins of Greeneville; a number of special nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver: Esther Brown.
She was the daughter of the late Alfred L. and Susan Waddell Southerland and was preceded in death by three sisters: Ruby Corby, Leaoma Ware, and Hazel Blevins; and two brothers: Clinton Southerland and Lonnie Lawrence Southerland.
The family will receive friends at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2010, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Pastor David Brannock officiating. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Her pallbearers will be Kevin Slimp, Alfred Southerland, Ben Ware, Bill Hunt, Jerry Dixon, Chris Horner, Chris Oldenberg, Steve Saylor, and Steve Renner.
Her honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Durham Hensley Health and Rehabilitation, Jim Leslie and the staff of Amedysis Hospice, August Long, Mitzi Neas, Kim Dunbar, the members of the Crusaders Class of Trinity United Methodist Church, Dr. J.R. McKinney, and Leon and Esther Brown.
