He attended Cedar Creek Church of God.
Mr. Davis was a supervisor at Austin Company for 38 years and then retired from Glen Hills Utility District.
He was also on the Board of Directors for Cedar Creek Fire Department.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who never met a stranger. He had a host of friends.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Josephine Davis; daughter and son-in-law: Eva Jo (Davis) and David Gass; son and daughter-in-law: Todd and Angie Davis; daughter and son-in-law: Hope and John-Paul Broyles; grandchildren: Makinzie Johnson, Chelsea Davis, Nick Davis, Eli Gass, Alex Broyles; several nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Willis and Trixie Bowers and Eugene and Carolyn Bowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Frona Davis; infant sister: Gladys Davis; two sisters: Zella Mae Reaves and Louise Davis; and two brothers: Eunice Davis and Hobert Davis.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-8pm Wednesday and Thursday.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Konstantopoulos, Rev. Andy Christiansen, and Rev. Willis Bowers officiating.
Interment will be at 11 am Friday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Freddie Sams, Gail Davisson, Donnie Crum, Junior Davis, Terry Reaves, Jason Collins, and Billy Collins.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Renner, Rob Cafarelli, Gil Pongetti, John R. Davis, Jim Rich, Johnathan Waddell, John Callender, James W. Davis, Carolyn Armstrong, Ronald Humphreys, E.J. Swatsell, Kline Jones, and many other close friends.
