He was a farmer and retired from Plus Mark.
Mr. Myers was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for 37 years. He was an avid fox hunter as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Gayle Myers; grandchildren: Heath Pruitt and wife, Kim; step-granddaughter and spouse: Teresa and Walker Smith; five great grandchildren: Jordan and Addyson Pruitt, Ethan Spradlin, Laney and Austene Smith; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Becky Williams and Betty and Brab Gregg; brother-in-law and wife: Doc and Evelyn Hope; sister-in-law: Katherine Myers; several nieces and nephews; special aunt: Wanza Jones of Georgia; and his special friends: Lisa Gregg, Wayne Brooks, and Sarah Adams.
He was preceded by his wife of 51 years: Agnes Louise “Peg” Myers; son and daughter-in-law: Marty and Brenda Myers; step grandson: Travis Holt; parents: Oscar and Rena Myers; brother: Bill Myers; sisters: Joyce Hope and Carolyn Myers; and a brother-in-law: Ronnie Williams.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Cindy Paxton and Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw officiating.
Interment will follow in Myers Cemetery at Mt. Tabor.
Pallbearers will be Cody Brobeck, Ronnie Nelson, Lynn Bowens, Kent Myers, Mick Myers, Dudley Myers, J.C. Bishop, and Curtis Myers.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Moose Lodge, the staff of Life Care Center, the staff of Dr. Jamie Oakley, and the staff of Dr. Jason Carter.
