He was a retired boiler maker.
Mr. Inman was a member of the Latter Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Mollie Inman; sisters: Jenna Lee Hedrick and Helen McDonald; brothers: Bill Inman and Jack Inman; and several four-legged friends who have gone on to Rainbow Bridge.
Survivors include his wife: Kathy Inman; sons and daughter-in-law: William A. “Pete” and Marlene Inman and James “Butch” Inman; daughter: Rebecca Inman; stepdaughter: Ginger Kesterson; best friend and grandson: Josh Beckett; sister: Anne Shockley; brother: Jim Inman; very special nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly; and three furry best buddies: “Luke”, “Little Bit”, and “Pee Wee”
Jerry was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5266 and the DAV. He was a member of the VFW Color Guard. He served in the Big Red I Division in Europe with the U. S. Army.
Jerry was a legend to his family and friends. He was a special soul with so many stories to tell. He was caring and kind and loved his family. He related to the underdog and was a wonderful animal lover.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-6pm Thursday in the chapel of Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Gary Flanagan, Helm Sexton, and Clint Hurley officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm Friday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Morristown VFW Post #5266. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Friday at 1:45 pm for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society.
