He was a member of Greene County Coon Hunters Association and enjoyed working with mules and horses, and riding with the wagon train.
Survivors include two daughters and son in law: Linda “Kaye” and Roger Cutshall with whom he made his home and Karen “Annette” Johnston of Greeneville; grandchildren: Susan Cutshall of the home, Stefanie Hudson, Morristown, Brian Hale, Mosheim, Jason Miller of the U.S.Army stationed in Germany and Jennifer Hale of Greeneville; great-grandchildren: Jason and Alexis Hudson, Mackenzie, Savanah, Aiden Miller, and Connor Hale; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Rev. Lowell Bowens, Donnie Dykes and Terry Johnston "who he considered a son".
He was son of the late Tona and Hassie Waddle Miller and was preceded in death by a son William Jackie Miller; brother, Blaine Miller; sisters, Helen Carter and Jane Silfies.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Lowell Bowens officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hale, Jason Miller, Michael Dykes, Jason Hudson, Jodie Tarlton, and Jeff Dunbar.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jose Garza and staff, and nurses of the 3rd. floor comfort unit of Takoma Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home. It is requested that the family and friends meet at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home to go in procession for the committal service.
