Elgin Gilland

He was a loving father, papaw, son, brother, and uncle. He loved trout fishing in the cold mountain waters and being outdoors. He never met a stranger and always enjoyed good conversation with everyone he met.

Buster is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Amanda Gilland, and granddaughters Emma and Madison Gilland of Murfreesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Sherry Gilland, brother Vasil “Bud” Gilland, sisters Imogene Parkins and Elvie Cutshaw, and Floella Dean; brothers Ezra “Dean” Gilland and Daniel Gilland, special brother-in-law Gary Kline, and several nieces, nephews, family members, and special friends all of Greeneville.

He was preceded in death by parents: Mavil and Dorothy Gilland; brothers: Larry Gilland, Ernie "Slim" Gilland; sister: Retha Kline, and nephew Scottie Gilland.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation with Rev. Buster Shelton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
