She retired from Hurd Lock Corp.
Mrs. Babb attended Union FreeWill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one son: Gene Babb of the home; one brother: Homer Babb of Afton; several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Carrie Lane Babb and was preceded in death by a son, Donald William Babb; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bessie and Clarence Collins, Mildred and Orba Dean Harrison; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Nellie Mae Babb, Charlie and Velva Babb, Hubert and Fern Babb, Marshall and Wanda Babb, Walter and Veta Babb and an infant brother; special friend: Perry “Cotton” Gammons, whom she thought very highly of.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Gary Gass and Rev. Charles Babb, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Doty’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Alsup, Harold Smith, Eugene Duncan, Gene Smith, William Babb, Charles Shackleford, Jr. and William Gammons. Honorary pallbearers will be her family and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Caris Hospice, the staff of Advanced Home
Care, Dr. Mark Patterson, Dr. Dharman Patel, Dr. Andy Roberts, her family, friends and neighbors who assisted during her illness.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
