Dolores Middleton Parker, 78, of the Kingsport Highway in Chuckey, passed away Monday morning, December 16, 2013, at Wellmont-Holston Valley Regional Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer.
Dee retired from the Eastman Kodak Company in 1991.
She was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a member of the FCE Club where she served as secretary and she was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club of Greeneville.
Dee was born in Greene County and grew up at Jearoldstown and lived her entire life in that community. She met and married Sam Parker and they shared 57 wonderful years together.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years: Sam Parker; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Georgia and James Rector of Greeneville, Blanche and Clarence Huckaby of Church Hill, Cheryl Middleton of Asheville, North Carolina, and Debra and Bobby Scott of Greeneville; brother: Daryl Middleton of Apex, North Carolina; sister-in-law: Annalee Middleton; brother-in-law: Horace Burke; three sisters-in-law: Norma Humbard, Carolyn Parker and Joyce Johnson, all of Mosheim; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Charles and Charlsie Parker of Greeneville, Verlin and Remona Parker and Billy Yates of Mosheim; step mother: Opal Miracle of Chuckey; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews .
She was the daughter of the late Guy E. and Ninnie Middleton and was preceded in death by two sisters: Glenna Cosley and Erma Burke; and five brothers: John David Middleton, William A. Middleton, Donald R. Middleton, Guy C. “Buck” Middleton, and Carl S. Middleton.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Harmon and Rev. Richard Bowers officiating.
Interment will be at 11am Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Kingsport Highway. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:45am Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Rector, Dwayne Rector, Greg Cates, Jason Crawford, Parker Johnson, David Middleton, Randy Burke, Jeff Burke, Ronnie Burke, Jackie Burke, Denny Humbard, and Darin Humbard.
Her friends and neighbors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
