Delbert James McGowan

Mr. McGowan retired from American Greetings, Inc. after 37 years. He was a member and elder of Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, A. Hobie McGowan; his mother, Freda Martin; and a sister, Connie Conley.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kathryn C. McGowan; his children and their spouses: Joshua J. (Tina) McGowan of Jonesborough, TN; M. Isaiah (Rebecca) McGowan; Timothy E. (Katrina) McGowan of Denver, CO; and Hannah E. (Casey) Holt; grandchildren: Tyleah, Jericho, Ian, Emmaline, Luca, Vero, Lennon, Brinley, Finley, and Samuel; a sister, Nancy Potters of Hurricane, WV; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:30 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following visitation at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Richard Steele will officiate.

Interment will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 am at Meadow Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joshua McGowan, Isaiah McGowan, Timothy McGowan, Hannah Holt, Casey Holt, and Jericho McGowan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church at 4850 W. Allens Bridge Rd, Greeneville, TN 37743.
