He served two years in the U.S. Army.
He was a superintendent for Boles & Hite Construction.
Dale loved sports with baseball being his favorite. He said his brothers and dad worked hard all week, but when Saturday came, they would take off and play in the Greene County baseball league.
Dale loved the land and greatly enjoyed farming.
He was a member of New Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Carol DeWitt Gray; daughter and son-in-law: Dawn and Eugene Broyles; two grandsons: Tyler and Trevor Broyles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Cyril and Nora Gray; three sisters: Glenna Armstrong, Ruby Brooks, and Charlotte Watkins; and two brothers: Cyril “Skip” Gray Jr. and Billy Gray.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 9:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in New Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Broyles, Randy Pless, Scott DeWitt, Jeff Gray, Jerry Hoyle, Jimmy Helbert, Johnny Powers, and Billy Atkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Max Sizemore, Carlos Atkins, Buford Neas, L.C. Bowers, Ken Jestes, and Jim Pascucci.
