He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greeneville, where he was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Mr. Rigney retired as the parts manager for Bachman-Bernard and he also retired from Sherwin-Williams.
Survivors include his wife: Patsy “Pat” Rigney; sons and daughters-in-law: Mike Rigney, Scott and Vickie Rigney of Knoxville, Kenny and Diana Rigney of Greeneville; daughter: Stacey Rigney Marcus and husband, Terry, of Destin, Florida; grandchildren and spouses: Bryan and Amy Rigney, Katie and Tony Hurst, Robbie and Joanie Rigney, Tim and Alisha Rigney, Patrick Rigney, Lindsay Marcus, Jacob and Melanie Rigney, Taylor Marcus, Jordan Marcus, and Joshua Rigney; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fitchue and Melsie Rigney.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 5pm-7pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. David Green officiating.
Interment will be at 10:00 am Saturday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:15 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Bible, Bryan Rigney, Robbie Rigney, Tim Rigney, Patrick Rigney, Jacob Rigney, and Jordan Marcus.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Men’s Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Greeneville Building Fund.
