Opal Elizabeth Arnold

Opal Elizabeth Arnold, 82, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Born December 15, 1938 in Odon, she was the daughter of Homer Ray and Bertha Elizabeth (Arthur) Malone. She was a graduate of Odon High School “Class of 1956”. Opal retired from Walmart, where she had worked for 23 years. She had previously retired from Clay Co. Rural Telephone, where she had worked for 26 years. She was a life time member of the Moose Lodge. Opal was an avid gardner, enjoyed line dancing and calling bingo. Opal is survived by her daughters, Ronetta (Steve) Carroll, Joetta (Mike) Kirkman, and Shelley (Tom) Bradley; siblings, Jim (Linda) Malone, Bob (Sharon) Malone, Herschel (Kay) Malone, Grace Cornelius, Ruth (Ralph) Hart, and Barb (Junior) Fish; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer K. Watson; her parents; and siblings, Audrey Finn, Edna Chestnut, and David Malone. A Celebration of Life will be held for Opal at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Opal to the Women of the Moose 212 W.
