Carol Sue McGaughey

Carol was born in Crawfordsville on August 28, 1946, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Rusk) McGaughey, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include two sons, Larry McGaughey, (wife-Gina), Indianapolis and John McGaughey, (wife-Jenni) Greencastle; a niece “daughter,” Amanda Manley; two brothers, Kim McGaughey and Mark McGaughey, (wife-Tina); two sisters, Connie McGaughey, and Angie Lafferty; 5 grandchildren; Johnathan McGaughey, (wife-Alyssa), Joshua McGaughey, Jordann McGaughey, Josie McGaughey, and Owen McGaughey; a great grandson Aiden Frazee; three great nieces, Justice, Braylie, and Alona; a great nephew, Zayden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 55 years, Ronald Pettit.

A Celebration of life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Bobbie Lancaster officiating. Friends may gather at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home one hour prior to time of service. Afterwards the family would like to invite everyone to Greencastle Christian Church for a time of fellowship.
