Sharon attended Westminster High School and was a member of the dive team. Shortly after turning eighteen, Sharon married Gary Swanson on August 29th, 1959. The couple raised three sons, Wayne, Bob and Jim, and a daughter, Lynette. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. The family lived in Arizona for 18 years, Iowa for 8 years and Kansas for 2 years before returning to her home state of Colorado. She was a true blue Bronco and Rockies fan. She enjoyed tending to her garden and growing roses. Sharon loved to cook and eat, her famous dish was stacked enchiladas. She loved to gamble, roller skate, dance and twirl the baton. Sharon’s favorite character is Tweety Bird.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Swanson, Bob (Kathy) Swanson and Jim (Angel) Swanson, grandchildren, Robert (Katelyn) Swanson, Christopher (Tashina) Swanson, Shalet Dillard, Brandon Dillard, Karly Swanson and Brianna Emery, great-grandchildren, Dayton, Robbie, Kaedence, Nick, Xander and Dakota, and a sister, Dorothy Shockley.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Swanson, daughter, Lynette Swanson, grandson, Dusty Swanson, sister, Joann Nelson, and brothers, Tony Bazzell and Ronald Bazzell.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 19, 2024 at Allnutt Funeral Service – Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
