Sharon was a 1959 graduate of Greeley Central High School and married Kenneth Corliss on January 29, 1960. The couple raised three children and living in surrounding areas such as Kersey, Fort Collins, and Castle Rock. In 1966 the family moved to the Timnath area to pursue farming and eventually settled on a farm east of Kersey where they farmed for 38 years. Kenneth and Sharon farmed and ranched most of their life, growing beets, hay, wheat, corn and barley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was deeply active in her community, the family attended the Kersey Community Church, she was a member of the Extension Club in Greeley and Fort Collins, was a member of the church choir and bowled in couples leagues. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, gardening and oil painting. Sharon cherished her family and grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Chris (Sabrina) Corliss of Kersey, CO, and Doug (Jodi) Corliss of Kersey, CO; daughter, Ruth Ann (Wayne) Shoemaker of Kimball NE; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sisters, Marlene Schild and Myrna McLavey.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her parents, Pete and Ruth, and her brothers, Walter Schlagel, Duane Schlagel, and Kenneth Schlagel.
A burial for Sharon will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kersey Community Church, 26221 CR 53, Kersey, Colorado 80644 with a reception following after service.
