Ronald graduated from South Elgin High School in 1977. He also attended Aims Community College. He worked for Avago Technologies and had worked for RR Donnelley and Sons for many years.
Ron adored his grandsons seeing them as his “second chance”. He loved Paxton, Cyler, and Parker more than anything. Ron lived for today and he wanted to make the most of the “now”, to move on from his past he fought so hard to get away from. He found joy in reconnecting with his family, and worked incredibly hard to build a relationship with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Ron’s second family was his roommate Helen and his cat Melanie. Giving help where it was needed was a testament of the kind of person Ron was. Being the best friend and helper to Helen meant a lot to him. Even Melanie was a rescue from an abused home. Ron believed in second chances, recovery and healing. He was a saved Christian. He made mistakes, but through it all he did find God. He was forgiven and that meant so much to him.
Ron also loved NASCAR racing. He was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt and Kasey Kahne. Ron had an EXTENSIVE diecast stock car collection that his grandsons will enjoy for years. Ron was loved by so many and will always be remembered.
Ron will be remembered by many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his 5 year old daughter Crystal Gee.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24 followed by a Celebration of Life at Stoddard Funeral Home.
