Robert J. “Jerry” Henkel, devoted, loving husband and father, passed away on June 17, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado. He was born November 17, 1942 in Denver to Harold and Katherine Henkel. He grew up on a farm northeast of Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1960. He attended Denver University where he received an accounting degree and later became a certified public accountant. Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years from 1965-1969.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Karen Sullens and son Scott. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura (Kaminski) Henkel, daughter Sharon Henkel and her partner Hans Pudim, brother Jim Henkel of Georgetown Texas, daughter-in-law Lanette Henkel, grandchildren Shawn and Riley Henkel, and numerous other family and friends.
Jerry was employed for many years in the highest executive level positions of finance for ConAgra AgriProducts. He had a love of the Denver Broncos, farming and fishing.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Ave., Greeley, with inurnment and military honors in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
