Richard graduated from Greeley High and went to college in California. He did a lot of computer programming while in college, and returned to Greeley in the early 1980’s. He then ran the family jewelry store, Weiss Jewelers, which his family owned for 105 years. In 1986, Richard married Marion Cohrs.
Richard was dedicated to the Greeley community; he was an active member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and the Greeley Country Club. Richard loved golfing and playing pool at the Senior Center. He also held a weekly poker night at his house for his friends for many years. He was a big Denver Broncos fan. Richard enjoyed eating, he definitely wasn’t picky.
Richard is survived in life by his wife, Marion Weiss; his step-daughter, Marsha Cohrs and his step-son, Matthew Michaels.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Thelma Weiss.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Greeley Country Club, 4500 W 10th St, Greeley, CO 80634.
