

Ramona Guerrero Muñoz, 82, of Greeley, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born November 20, 1937 in Elsa, Texas to Rafael and Rosa (Perez) Guerrero.
Ramona grew up in Texas. She married Jose Isabel Muñoz-Muñoz April 4, 1960 in Edinburg, Texas. They moved to the Greeley area in 1966. Jose Isabel passed away February 5, 2018. Ramona attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley and La Basilica Virgen De San Juan in San Juan, Texas, she was also a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley. She was a member of the Eagles Club in La Salle. Ramona worked throughout her life as a migrant worker picking cotton, blueberries, cherries, harvesting potatoes and planting crops. She marched with Cesar Chavez. Ramona loved fishing and almost always caught more than her husband. She loved playing slot machines, dancing and listening to music, and cooking for family and friends. She loved to make tamales, tortillas, fish, and she loved using her mojacete to make chili with avocado. Above all, she loved her family and always had good advice when asked.
Ramona is survived by her daughters, Maria Silvia Muñoz-Villarreal (David Villarreal) of Evans, Rosa Maria Muñoz-Villarreal (Hilberto Villarreal) of Pasadena, Texas, Masedonia Muñoz Mendoza (Armando Mendoza) of Denver, Maria Muñoz Alarcon (Jose Esbardo Alarcon Perez) of Greeley; sons, Isabel Guerrero Muñoz (Connie T. Muñoz) of Mercedes, Texas, and Jose Luiz Muñoz of Greeley; and eldest sister, Reynalda Gonzalez of Edinburg, Texas. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, and 74 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Isabel Muñoz-Muñoz; daughter, Maria Isabel Muñoz; and son, Lorenzo Muñoz.
Interment will be at Weslaco Cemetery, Weslaco, Texas.
