Nellie Alice Roderick

Nellie was reared in Elk City. She attended Merritt School. After her education, she worked at various jobs. On November 4, 1957 she married Billy J. Thomas in Elk City. Two sons were born to his marriage. They later divorced and she married Carl Roderick in 1979. Both husbands are deceased.

Nellie moved to Greeley in 1963 and has lived here since.

Nellie most recently attended Greeley Wesleyan Church. She was also a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of American Legion and Sixth Photo Squadrons Veterans Association. She worked as a Doctor’s assistant and Dental Assistant. She then worked for Mutual of Omaha Agency in Greeley as the office manager, retiring in 1987.

Nellie loved having her schnauzer dogs through the years. She enjoyed sewing, painting and collecting. Above all she loved her time with her family and the time spent together.

Nellie is survived by her sons, Keith Thomas (Vivian) of La Salle and Billy Thomas (Terri) of Greeley and four grandchildren, Stacey Thomas of Greeley, Valeen Thomas (Gary Jackson) of La Salle and Colin and Mason Thomas both of Greeley. She is also survived by a very special friend, Ed Sweet of Greeley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Grace Gannon and Ruth Chester and her husband, Henry, two brothers, Ray J. and Jesse Gannon, grandson, Trevor Thomas and her husbands, Billy Thomas and Carl Roderick.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
