Mike Flohr, 64, of Windsor, passed away April 17, 2013 at Medical Center of the Rockies. He was born December 22, 1948 in Brush, Colorado to Fred and Lydia (Kaufman) Flohr. He was raised in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. He married Nina Scheirman on June 8, 1969. Mike served in the United States Army from 1968 – 1971.
Mike loved off-roading, fishing and hunting, rock hounding and anything outdoors. He had an incredible, creative, engineering mind. He was constantly inventing and building new things at home or work. His most recent achievement was the building of a successful manufacturing company in Greeley, Colorado for the past 15 years. Mike’s motto was to always work hard but play even harder.
Mike is survived by his wife Nina Flohr, daughter Jennifer Morrill and son Jeff Flohr all of Windsor; sister Doris Thiel of Fort Morgan, Colorado; brother Don Flohr of Sequim, Washington; and three grandchildren Kelly Harned, Jessica Harned and Skyler Morrill. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ruth Berryman and Loyal Canine Companion “Abby”.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23 at Stoddard Funeral Home 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's memory to the Colorado State Forest Service in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. They will use the funds for firefighting, pine beetle mitigation and trail upkeep of the park.
