Karen Lee Deppe

She was born on a farm near Prescott, Iowa and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. Karen lived in several states throughout her life most recently Las Cruces, New Mexico and relocated last year to Windsor, Colorado to be nearer to family.

Karen married Herb Deppe on December 30, 1984. She was co-owner with her husband of Canyon Cleaners from 1987 to 2000 in Glenwood Springs and Aspen, Colorado. They had a lot of fun adventures in their time together. They enjoyed cruising the Caribbean and traveling around in their motorhome across the United States visiting family and friends. They also traveled to Hawaii and Mexico several times. Karen also enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, and quilting.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Karen is survived by her husband, Herb Deppe, Sister, Sherry (Jim) Greenhorn of Urbandale, Iowa. Sister-in-law Berdell Akin of Aurora. Children, Kathy (Kent) Elverum of Williamsburg, New Mexico, Ken (Rhonda) Wigg of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Kristy (Bob) Duffy of Windsor, Karolyn Deremiah of Des Moines, Iowa. Step-children Cameron (Leslie) Deppe of Grand Junction, Paula (Darin) Bice of Grand Junction.

Karen is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Elwood Sr., mother Sarah Elwood, brother George Elwood Jr. and three of her children, Karlene Wigg, Harold Miller III, and Amanda Capron.
