Jon attended Fairfield Senior High School in Fairfield, Ohio and was a 1963 graduate. He proudly served in the Air National Guard for 6 years. He diligently worked for the family farm and also worked for R&R Donley, a printing company. Jon retired from printing work in 2004. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend. He married Kim Anderson on December 4, 2010.
He was a bow hunter and Grand Mesa and Red Feather Lakes area were his favorite places he frequently hunted at. He held the state record for hunting the largest Bull Moose for a year. Jon enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a huge fan of Old Country music, his favorites were Dolly, Reba, Willie and Johnny Cash. He also enjoyed traveling including visiting Bright City of Las Vegas to gamble. He was known for his gentleness and adored his grandchildren.
Jon is survived by his wife, Kim, sons, Matthew Hoyt, Michael (Helen) Hoyt, step sons, Greg Heisler, Joshua and Jason Rusch, sisters, Connie (Gerald) Oney and Debbie Strong, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmon and Carol and his step mother Rachel Hoyt.
