Joe L. Puente

Joe L. Puente, 88, of Greeley, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born March 4, 1933 in Rawlins, Wyoming. He was the son of the late Jacinto and Consuelo Puente. He was raised and educated in Wyoming. Upon the completion of his schooling Joe began working in the construction industry, which took him all over the country.

Joe married the love of his life, Nellie Silva in 1954 in Greeley, Colorado where they made their home. Joe retired in 1979. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed collecting eagles and coins, he will be remembered by his lovable personality.

He was loved by his children: Betty (Mike) Foos, Beverly Peregoy, and Allen (Jessica) Puente; his granddaughters: Valerie (John) Welch and Bettie Jo Puente; his great-grandchildren, Hunter (Alyssa) Welch and Jade Welch; his great-great grandson, Aidric Welch; and his sister, Maria Inez Puente Flores.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jacinto and Consuelo Puente; his brother, Fidecio Puente; his son, Stoney Puente; and his son-in-law, James Peregoy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Stoddard Funeral Home 3205 W. 28th Street Greeley, Colorado, 80634.
