Inez Marostica of Johnstown, Colorado passed away peacefully on April 27, 2014 at North Shore Health and Rehab, Loveland. Inez was born in Sterling, Colorado to Willis Franklin and Leora Ace Carrigan. She was the sixth of seven children (3 brothers and 3 sisters) all of whom have preceded her in death.
Inez graduated from Sterling High School. She married John Louis Marostica, Jr. of Iliff, Colorado on February 2, 1947 (John passed away on July 12, 2004). Inez and John moved from Sterling to Johnstown, Colorado in the summer of 1964.
Inez was the Senior Coordinator of the Johnstown Senior Citizens Club at the Johnstown Community Center. She also worked for the Johnstown Clothing Store (1976-1983), Byers Mercantile (1980-1981), Hested’s Store (1969-1976) and American Fertilizer Company (1965-1969).
Inez was a very independent Irish woman who taught her five children that same independence. She was always willing to help and give to others. Even though she converted to the Catholic faith upon marrying John, she always remained a Presbyterian at heart.
She is survived by her three sons: Don Marostica and his wife Carol of Loveland, Colorado; Robert Marostica and his wife Julia of Gillette, Wyoming; Richard Marostica and his wife Trina of Platteville, Colorado and Inez’s two daughters, Debhora (Debbie) and her husband Randy Walter of Greeley, Colorado; and Kathleen (Kathie) Marostica of Johnstown, Colorado and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Inez will be missed by many and forever loved by all that knew her. Per Inez’s wishes, she requested just her immediate family bid her farewell. She will be buried next to her husband of 57 years in the Johnstown Cemetery.
