Franklin was born September 16, 1945 in DuBois, PA to Kenneth Joseph and Evelyn Mary (Lenkerd) Simbeck.
Franklin and his family moved to Denver, CO in 1956 and he has been here since. Franklin met Thea Schultz during high school. They were married and raised three children. After they divorced, Franklin moved to Roggen, CO and later to Akron.
Franklin served in the U.S. Army and was very proud of his military service. He was also very proud when his son followed in his footsteps by enlisting in the U.S. Army.
Franklin drove truck over-the-road and then for Roggen Farmers Elevator until his retirement. Then he was the County DAV Coordinator.
Franklin loved his motorcycles and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking and had a shop where he would make birdhouses. Franklin was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed target practice.
Franklin is survived by his children, Annette (Mike) Taylor, Frank Simbeck and Jacqueline Simbeck; his partner, Phyllis Murillo; six grandchildren, Chad, Danielle, Becky, Kayla, Jody and Zack and eight great-grandchildren, Paisley, Thea, Katie, Mason, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Nevada and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Thea; and three brothers, Lenny, LeRoy and Larry Simbeck.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 13750 Weld County Road 12, Fort Lupton, CO 80621.
