Frances Marie Russell, 100, of Greeley, Colorado passed away December 23, 2024. She was born July 6, 1924 to Frank and Erma (McFall) Phillips in a farmhouse outside of Texline, Texas. She was the third of four daughters. Her early years were spent around the Dalhart, Texas area. The family then moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school and attended Southwestern Teacher’s College.
In October of 1955, she married Woodrow (Woody) Russell at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dallas and they were married 56 wonderful years. Fran was a talented seamstress and a thrifty home manager with a knack for repairing anything that needed it. From her mother, she inherited a lifelong love of Jesus Christ, beautiful flowers and love of country. The relationship she had with her three sisters was an example of deep love and faithfulness to each other all of their lives. She was a long time member of Living Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Kevin (Karen) of Greeley, Colorado; daughter Lori E. Sidow of Hesperia, California; grandsons, Kyle, Steven, Patrick and Alex; great-grandchildren, Wes and Charlotte and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brother-in-laws.
A funeral service for Frances will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at Living Grace Baptist Church; 3251 W 22nd St., Greeley, CO 80634. Interment will follow Sunset Memorial Gardens.
