Dolores “Lola” M. Figueroa, 90, of Northern, CO passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, CO. She was born April 6, 1933 in Alamo Alto, TX to Saul and Maria (Perez) Molinar.
On July 25, 1952, Lola married Evelio M. Figueroa.
Lola worked at McKee Medical Center for 30 years and Berthoud Living Center for 12 years. She retired at the age of 79. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Sagrada Familia, Los Alegres Ancianos Mexicanos and Johnstown Senior Center for many years. She enjoyed her rock collection, frog collection, crocheting, dancing, and walking. Her favorite color was green.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (Jeffrey) O'Brien, Terry (Bob) Vanderfin, Mario (Martha) Figueroa, Rose (Jeff) Bennett and Cristina (Steve Juengst) Figueroa; sisters, Esperanza “Hope” Alvarez, Aurora “Dora” Quintana and Alicia “Alice” Vigil; brother, Jesus “Jesse” Molinar; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many God children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evelio M. Figueroa, parents, Saul and Maria Molinar, brothers, Saul Jr. Molinar, Arturo “Arthur” Molinar and Incarnacion “Chonito” Molinar, sister, Francisca “Kika” Velasquez and two great-grandchildren, Alexander James Aguerro and Aniya Monae Bennett.
A visitation will be at 1:00p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 followed a Celebration of Lola’s Life at 2:00 p.m all at Grace Community Church, 2033 W. South 1st St., Johnstown, CO. Interment will follow at Johnstown Cemetery, followed by a reception back at Grace Community Church.
The family requests that guests wear green in honor of Lola’s favorite color or purple for Dementia Awareness.
