In 1963, Diane's family moved to Colorado where she was raised and attended schools in Greeley. She graduated from Greeley West High School in 1978. After graduation, Diane worked in auto parts delivery. Shortly after graduating she toured Germany. Diane married Randal Surratt on December 2, 1978. She gave birth to her son, Jeremy Surratt on August 6, 1979.
Over the years, Diane worked at Monforts Packing House, Have-a-Snack in Fort Lupton, King Soopers and McDonalds. The last five years she was a homemaker in her home.
Diane is survived by her husband, Randal Surratt; mother, Lorraine Smith Reichwaldt; aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Howard Miller of Crete, NE, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny and Karen Surratt of Colorado Springs, sisters-in-law, Connie Surratt, and Sandy Olives of Greeley; along with several cousins.
Diane was a loving daughter, wife to Randy, and mother to Jeremy. She enjoyed going out to eat and car rides. Years ago Diane and Randy owned a motorcycle which she enjoyed going for rides on as well.
Diane was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, LeRoy Smith, who passed away on November 21, 2007 and her son, Jeremy Surratt, who passed away on September 17, 2019.
A Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
